  • Learning and understanding the purpose of a project to perform preliminary theoretical tests.
  • Apply a strong technical/scientific foundation to deliver high quality scientific results in a laboratory in a safe and effective manner.
  • Have a strong knowledge of chemical engineering with an ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Work closely with experienced staff to carry out experiments using an array of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Collect and analyze experimental data to support process development and scale-up.  Scope of experiments include but are not limited to measurement of Rare Earth, common elements, density, LOI, titration, specific area, microstructure by using model analyzer such like ICP – OES, ONHC inert gas fusion analyzer, SSA, SEM and other support equipment.
  • Communicate results at team discussions and through clear, concise written reports to HOS.
  • Evaluates laboratory test results, analyze production methods and make adjustments to specifications and standards to improve quality, productivity and reduce costs.
  • Technical Support- Monitor process specification compliance in assigned area and make recommendations to plant production management to improve quality productivity and costs Evaluate non-conforming product or material and disposition in accordance with standards
  • Maintain laboratory and instruments in working order and verify.
  • Utilize statistical analysis methods where appropriate to help determine root cause or key process input variables. Assist in presentations to management.
  • Complies with policies, documents, procedures and work instructions of both the Quality and Environmental Management systems and performs them in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties of equal or less complexity as assigned or directed by management.

  • Education: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience.
  • MS Office suite and computer skills, including fundamentals around application of Excel, Word.
  • Ability to function as part of a team and work cooperatively toward team goals.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Intelligent, Honest, open-mind, flexible, willing to learn new things, potential to develop, diligent, careful, patient, good memorizing.
  • Qualified candidates will work well under pressure, demonstrate, excellent problem solving and creativity, and be able to quickly evaluate new information and make appropriate decisions.
  • An interest and knowledge in the principles of Design of Experiments and modern reaction monitoring techniques is a plus, and previous experience with large scale laboratory reactions is desirable.
